Tim Phalen 12 Lead Course

Tim Phalen, is a leading expert in acquisition and interpretation of 12-lead ECGs. Tim will be providing a 12-lead training program for Central Iowa EMS providers. Through an interactive classroom sessions, attendees will experience a stimulating course in ECG review, STEMI recognition, ECG changes, extensive interpretation practice, and rapid acquisition tips.

Whether you are new to 12-lead acquisition and interpretation or as a review, this course is an excellent and engaging training program appropriate for Advanced EMT’s, Paramedics, Paramedic student and nursing personnel.

This program will cover:

  • STEMI Systems-STEMI vs NSTEMI – Suspecting STEMI – Evolutions of STEMI – Top STEMI Impostors and how to eliminate them – Other Common STEMI impostors
  • Acquiring the 12 lead ECG/12- Lead Layout
  • Waveform Identification/Recognition of J point elevation
  • Lead “views” – Reciprocal Changes – 5 Important ECG Changes
  • Ventricular Rhythms (paced and spontaneous) – Early Repolarization – Pericarditis
  • Developing a “Systematic approach”
  • and much, much more
